Ultimate Frisbee on Last Sunday.

As I had told you for two posts, I went for an Ultimate Competition Last Sunday. And boy, what a day it has been.

It started out quite badly: it seemed that I was the only person that was late for registering, and in the end, I held up my whole team for the registration process. They woke up and reached here pretty early, like about 7.15am, so I can't really argue about not being able to wake up in time...

Then we had this first game against some NYP Dragonboat Team. Wah lau eh Thrash them ah. It seems that that do not really get the geist of the game. One team member from that team only got the faint impression of me passing an orange frisbee around to others, during the Captain's Ball competition which he and I took part in.

When the game started, I started running like hell. Either Clement, or me will be waiting at the other end of the pitch waiting to score a point by catching the frisbee, with one defender frantically calling for help. In two swift counterattacks, we scored two goals. That's why Uncle Ra (one of the Ultimate Veterans) told us to slow it down, because they are newbies.

I was thinking, "What do you mean slow down? Do you mean to jog instead of run?"

After two goals, we kept on playing as usual. Then suddenly there was this aerial struggle between the opposing team member and derek. Both lost their footing and fell. One gripped his knee tightly.

"Arrgh!! My KNEE!"

I went, "Holy sh*t, did we play a little too much? Derek jumped into the sky along with him and he bloody busted his kneecap. I don't wanna die later..."

Of course, a subsitute came in for the poor injured guy and we continued the game. After that, we finally cut some slack off the pressure, and the opposing team started to show some potential. They are starting to get the basics of the game, although their passes were still fuzzy. That's where we scored again. Then one of the opposing girls started to wheeze and said to me:

"This is even worse than the 2.4 km run."

What the hell! There I was suffering from the perils of failing my 2.4 km run from last week, and this lady here told me this. How twisted can this world be....

After that I just stoned. Stoned as in don't know what to do, stay in one place. Until Derek shouted to me not to stay too far back, and start marking one person (can't quote because I can't really remember what he said). I would like to declare here, that I am not good at reading games, like soccer, basketball, judo and Ultimate. Hell, my cousin is even worse than me at playing these kind of games that need strategy. All I do is to try to follow orders without getting too confused.

The 12-minute match ended with a score of 7-0. Everyone is a winner. Even the guy guy with the busted knee started walking normally. haha....

The second game
